How to Add Tilt to a Dozer Blade?

Having a dozer to assist with those big outdoor projects can be a time saver, but also rough on the wallet. By adding tilt to a dozer's blade you can increase its productivity by using less fuel to complete the task. The tilt on your dozer's blade will determine how much material you can move at a time. By making this simple modification to the existing blade, you can move more material at once.

Operating procedure:

1. Start the dozer and move it onto level ground. Lower the blade on the dozer until it rests on the ground.

2. Use the crescent wrench to remove the mounting arm on the top operator's side of the dozer. Insert the spacer onto the top of the bolt that holds the mounting arm.

3. Reattach the mounting arm in place by tightening the bolt back in. Repeat these steps for the three other mounting arms, making sure to install the spacer at the top of the bolt.

4. Start the dozer and lift the blade off of the ground. Use the dozer to plow a test strip of land to see if the tilt has been increased enough. Repeat the steps again to increase the tilt even more, up to a maximum of three spacers on each mounting arm.

Tips: Only use a maximum of three spacers on each mounting arm. Any more can put unwanted stress on the mounting assembly and bolt.
